Appearance

Straw coloured

Nose

Citrus and white stonefruits with a sweet nuttiness of French oak

Palate

Well balanced acidity with a long, satisfying finish.

What Alex Mackay (our winemaker) did

The grapes were 100% whole bunch pressed. The juice was then fermented (using full malolactic fermentation) and matured on lees in French oak barrels (20% new) for 9 months before being blended together and bottled.

What the wine says

This wine says "I am a real Tumbarumba chardonnay - well structured with elegance and a very satisfying mineral acidity. I've developed a bit of funkiness after hanging out with some new (and old) French barrels for 9 months.
