Well balanced acidity with a long, satisfying finish.
What Alex Mackay (our winemaker) did
The grapes were 100% whole bunch pressed. The juice was then fermented in French oak barrels (25% new) for 11 months before being blended together and bottled.
What the wine says
This wine says "I am a real Tumbarumba chardonnay - well structured with elegance and a very satisfying mineral acidity. I've developed a bit of funkiness after hanging out with some new (and old) French barrels for 11 month.
What others are saying
This chardonnay was awarded a gold medal in the 2017 Winewise Small Vigneron Awards. Winewise said "The lemony fruit is backed up by nutty complexity and a touch of funkiness. The palate is long and textural, with a strong line of acidity".
